“The person that I’ve wanted to thank since day one of this shoot is art department queen Chloe Kirk and her team… they literally moved mountains to create some of the most lived-in, realistic-feeling spaces. Every photo taped to the wall, every whiteboard note, every doodle in a notebook is hers. So detail-oriented. So real. You’d enter a room she created and it felt magical.” -Jake Stangel, Photographer
Hi! My name is Chloe Kirk and I’m a freelance set designer, prop stylist, muralist and commercial art director based in both Los Angeles, California and Austin, Texas. With a background in interiors and studio art, color and design are languages I’ve learned to speak. Using these skills along side my interest in creating spaces I’ve combined the two to be able to bring sets to life in ways that feel like art.
There are so many reasons I love getting to create, but maybe the most important reason is because living these little play worlds is the gentle reminder of how big everything outside of me is— walls I can’t measure with a tape and ceilings I’ll never reach with a ladder. But while my physical experience may always feel small, my ultimate reality lives in the vastness. The vastness where I fill every corner. The vastness where there are no corners. The vastness where everything comes through because it was meant to exist and is perfect, in the same way you’re meant to exist and are perfect. Every photo, every plant, every idea, every outfit, every painting, everything you love and everything you hate. There was a time where I didn’t realize it, but having an idea and then bringing it into its authentic physical expression it is a deep form of of connecting with my highest self and of loving the universe back. We’re here to express and to make and to feel and to play, simply because we’re HERE.
Let’s play together!
